Shalom-Kehilah (Welcoming)

Creating a Warm and Welcoming Community

Shalom-Kehilah means Welcome-Community. The Shalom-Kehilah Team welcomes congregants and visitors to Religious Services and Events and helps integrate new members into our congregation.

From the first moment someone comes in contact with our congregation, our goal is to welcome everyone warmly and give them an opportunity to have their spiritual and social needs met in a friendly and non-threatening environment. Additionally, we want to give every new member an opportunity to network and form connections with members of our community.

How you Can Contribute
You are invited to join the Shalom-Kehilah volunteers! Our responsibilities include these tasks:

  1. Shabbat Greeters. Greet everyone at Shabbat Services and other special programs.
  2. Welcome Phone Calls. Make a personal phone call to welcome a new member within the first week of their affiliation.
  3. Shabbat Dinner/Holiday Host. Invite a new member for a holiday dinner (Shabbat, Break-the-Fast, Passover Seder, etc.).
  4. Meet Up. Invite a new member to sit with you at services or attend a CBI event with you.
  5. Mentor. Reach out to a new member family and maintain a steady connection with during their first year of membership.

To Volunteer: Complete a Welcome Home Volunteer Form or call Rabbi Rony Keller at (480) 951-0323 ext. 139. Thank you!
