Adult B’nei Mitzvah Class

Adult B’nei Mitzvah Class
(Beginning in Fall 2013)

When you were thirteen years old did you miss out on having a bar or bat-mitzvah ceremony? Well now is your chance. The CBI clergy is offering an adult b’nei mitzvah class for anyone interested in taking their Judaic learning to the next level.

The main focus of the class will be learning to chant Torah according to the special markings called trope. We will also learn how to lead a Shabbat morning service and prepare a d’var torah (sermonette). The only prerequisite is a basic knowledge of Hebrew (reading and sounding out the letters), and a desire to learn more. If you have already had a bar or
bat-mitzvah and you want to learn how to chant Torah, then
this class is for you too.
